Welcome to Bay Valley Christian Church!
In 1990, God planted the vision for Bay Valley Christian Church deep in the heart of Pastor David S. Ferranti while serving as an Army Chaplain during Desert Storm. The visions that the Lord gave him are symbolized in the BVCC logo. The four symbolic components of the logo are: the fish hook for evangelism, the Word for discipleship and a love for God’s written Word, the guitar for worship and the dove for the Holy Spirit. Upon returning to Bay City in June of 1991, Pastor David shared the vision with others who felt called to support the ministry.
At the beginning of August 1991, Bay Valley Christian Church had its first service with a handful of faithful believers in the basement of Pastor David’s home. By the end of the same month, more caught the vision and the meetings moved to a larger location. The first meeting attracted sixty committed people. Soon after, in November 1991, two acres of land and the “Old Green School” in Kawkawlin, MI was purchase for services. Faithful members worked hard to add a pitched roof, gray siding and remove walls to make a sanctuary for weekly services. As a continuance of the expanding vision for the fure at BVCC, the former M-Supply Building was purchased in September 1995. Promptly, the BVCC church offices were moved to the new location, however, it wasn’t until almost five years later that a “church-zoning” was finally granted by the township and the renovation began to create the building that exists today. Signaling the mighty, continuing work of the Lord, the first service held at this location was held on Easter Sunday in 2002 with over 550 people in attendance!
Today BVCC is not merely a building made of mortar and brick. It is a living, Christ-Centered expression of the Body of Christ, made up of the precious “living stones” who are committed to the cause of Christ. As God continues to do a marvelous work in our community through BVCC, it will be exciting to partner with Him to bring the vision to fulfillment.
Our desire is to share the love of Jesus and to see lives changed by the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray that our church will be a place where you can feel at home and experience God’s love. Join us for a service soon! Find Service Times.
